Wow! 2026 has just begun, and I am already feeling the pace quicken and the intensity push right up. This year requires us to be 100% present and ready to catch the signs and changes that are steering us towards the new chapter we are about to begin.
2026 is a 1 year, which is ruled by the Sun, radiating our authentic light and focussing on new beginnings, a new chapter, and starting new things.
2025, being a 9 year was about completion, tying up loose ends, releasing what needs to go – shedding the old snake skin and preparing for a new chapter, which 2026 will be the beginning of.
We have not even finished the Chinese snake year yet, but I can already feel the galloping, feisty energy of the fire Horse pushing in.
As we enter the year of the Horse on the 17th February (New Moon in Aquarius), both Neptune and Saturn would have moved into Aries (the first sign of the zodiac). We have had little preludes of what is to come, but with the outer planets all moving into the new signs properly this year, we can now prepare for the new with a sense of a long-term plan.
Looking at some of the main features this year:
Starting with the feisty conjunction of Mars, Mercury, Venus, and the Sun as they move through Capricorn and into Aquarius, magnifying the intensity in the areas of communication, value, and action.
There are two powerful Mars change points this year that feel significant. The first is the Mars conjunct Pluto on 27 January, which can be quite an explosive and triggering potent energy, but it is the first time that Mars is conjuncting the powerful energy of Pluto in the sign of Aquarius, which feels like the shift of power is pushing us to start working together. This early part of 2026 feels volatile with a chaotic undertone that is there to push us to work together – power with the people. This volatile start will lay the foundation for a big shift later in the year when Pluto opposes Jupiter in Leo, which is the opposition between the people and the king. So the second powerful aspect that Mars makes that feels like the next step in the transformation and change is Mars conjunct Uranus on 3 July. This energy feels positive in a way that if we, as a global community, can start to work together towards the higher good, we can shift some of the stuck patterns that have been stopping us from moving forward. This sets the energy for the 2nd part of the year. The visual that comes to mind is: power with the people and the fallen king.

MOVING INTO 2026
I am slowly easing into my working rhythm again. It has been a slower start because I rented my house out for the festive season and will only be moving back in on the 16th. This year’s talk I feel works well to do it in the sign of Aquarius as the energy of community, groups, and working together feels like a theme for this year.
